I like to work collaboratively with clients who come to see me. I see my clients as fellow human beings with their own answers and ability to grow and change. I am totally committed to my work, and to improving the quality of my client`s lives. The sessions are usually scheduled weekly at the same day and time. This emphasis on regularity, timing, and continuity is an important aspect of the therapeutic process.

For many years now I have also been a Snr member of The Royal Society of Medicine and attend various seminars there. With my own medical background, it feels important for me to continue integrating both fields in one of the country`s major providers of postgraduate education.

The importance of having knowledge of how the body functions or malfunctions, have been of immense value in my practice work.

An example of this was when an older, previous client, returned complaining of stress and seeing flashing lights at night. He had been defrauded some months earlier and was convinced the fraudsters had returned to frighten him. He was so convinced he hired a P.I. in the hope the criminals would be caught.

Thankfully, I had knowledge of Macular Degeneration and had read Oliver Sacks CBE FRCP, book on hallucinations. So, while I listened to how these fraudsters were tormenting him, I was also aware that he was of an age where changes in the eye can cause these frightening changes. Eventually, he was able to accept that the flashing lights were a reaction to the stress created by the earlier unpleasant incidents.
